It is no secret that we are spoilt with many tv shows to choose from in the present day. But sometimes, a great show goes under the radar, and Yellowstone should not be one of them.
The series follows the Dutton Family, owners of the well-known ranch called “Yellowstone”. John Dutton (Kevin Costner), the father of the family and owner of the farm, are supported in his every move by his children. Season One begins with introducing many elements. Firstly, we understand there is a dark past in the Dutton family, including a tragic loss. Each family member has different goals in life, but the last name is the biggest thing in common.
But John and his family find out that their ranch could be in big trouble thanks to local developers and the Indian reservation. All of them have interests in either building around Yellowstone, or worse, they have an interest to do whatever it takes to boot the Dutton family on and claim Yellowstone’s land for themselves.
As a plot, Yellowstone is slow-moving drama series as it has plenty of characters, subplots that continue to grow into something far bigger and better as the series goes forward. The visuals of Yellowstone are also amazing. Nothing regarding the visuals can be disappointing to see. Every shot is filmed well, and it is simply positive to see.
Yellowstone is a solid TV series. Visually it is brilliant, and the audio track is just as impressive. While I am not a fan of Westerns, this is undoubtedly a great drama with wonderful performances that easily got me hooked. The story is a slow burn but the build-up towards the season-ending extremely rewarding. After watching season one, I will be hanging around the Yellowstone ranch a lot more.
